Northern Module R&D -project
Olana Energy started is journey as a solar developer with a agricultural angle, and developed a solar tracker called Northern Module that enables farming between the panels and optimizes solar yields in the northern hemisphere. The innovation of the solution is a fixed tilt angle and a vertical turning direction, which enables up to 28% additional yield, a rigid lightweight structure and, most importantly, the product extends production hours from noon to morning and afternoon. The prototype project was completed in Turku summer of 2024 and is operating next to the Turku energy storage site.
