"We are proud to announce our first FID decision outside Finland. Lithuania is both a healthy and strategically important market for Olana Energy," says Ville Kaituri, founder of Olana Energy. "This project is an important step in our growth outside Finland and in line with our goal of implementing high-quality projects in attractive and future-oriented energy markets."
Grid-scale battery storage projects like Šalčininkai are cornerstones of the energy transition: they enable a higher share of renewable energy, reduce CO₂ emissions and support system flexibility. Strategically located and professionally operated BESS plants can replace fossil peak-load plants, stabilize prices and increase energy security.
